Accounting Technician/Staff Accountant

Our well-established accounting practice located in Strathmore, 25 minutes east of Calgary, is seeking the right candidate to fill a full-time position for an accounting technician and/or staff accountant.

Some of the duties and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of compilation engagement files, corporate tax returns and financial statements
  • Preparation and review of compliance documentation, specifically Goods and Services Tax returns and payroll reporting
  • Review posting of client’s financial information
  • Preparation of corporate and personal tax estimates
  • Preparation of personal tax returns and supporting business statements

 Skills and qualifications: 

  • High school diploma and 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong computer skills with Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with accounting software particularly with QuickBooks/Sage
  • Ability to work independently
  • Positive attitude/team player and the desire to provide excellent customer service

CPA Articling Student

Gregory, Harriman & Associates LLP (GH&A) is a public accounting firm located in Strathmore, Alberta, 25 minutes east of Calgary. Our firm is comprised of three partners along with over thirty staff, which includes designated professionals, CPA students and administration staff. GH&A is a full service firm that provides accounting, assurance, income tax services to individuals, owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit entitites and municipalities. GH&A is currently seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated CPA articling student to join our team starting September 2023. This is an ideal position for applicants looking to work with a diverse client base to gain experience in accounting, assurance, taxation and specialty services in a variety of industries.

Who GH&A is looking for: 

  • The applicant should be in the process of completing or have completed the entrance requirements for the CPA Professional Education Program
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Office Administrator

Our well-established accounting practice, located in Strathmore, 25 minutes east of Calgary, is seeking the right candidate to fill our Part Time Office Administrator position. This position reports directly to the Partners of the practice. Our office employs over 30 staff and we are seeking a strong communicator and leader to maintain our office systems. 

Key job responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the effective utilization of staff to allow for the delivery of our services in a timely and professional manner including intake/assign work to staff
  • Review monthly payroll
  • Prepare agendas for and attendance of partner meetings
  • Manage accounts receivable collections
  • Ensure that the office administrative staff operate effectively and efficiently and supervise the same
  • Prepare various reporting / applications for the partnership as required
  • Coordinator of Human Resources duties including time off requests, Employee Policy Manual, Employment Agreements, Performance Evaluations, new hires, and terminations
  • Assist with reception coverage
